Beef Steak in Mushroom Gravy

Add a little oil to a pot or large skillet. Season the steaks with salt and pepper, then sear them over high heat on both sides (they don't need to be fully cooked inside). Set aside.

In the same pot, add a little butter, then add the mushrooms, chopped onion, and chopped garlic.

Generously add Maggi seasoning sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until the mushrooms release their liquid (make sure they don't reduce too much).

Add a little cornstarch and stir until you reach the desired consistency.

Return the steaks and any juices to the pot. (If you like, you can add 1 chicken bouillon cube.) Cover and let everything cook together so the flavors blend well.

Serve with mashed potatoes and salad.
