Boil the potatoes. Peel mash and keep aside. Take garlic cloves add green chilli{1 small dark green(spicy one) and 1 big light green}. You can take green chillies according to your taste and grind together to make these and keep aside.

Heat 1 tbsp of oil put cumin seeds and Hing.break curry leaves with hands and put into oil mix it.

Add these and saute 1 min.add salt and turmeric saute a few seconds and then add mashed potatoes and mix it very well. Add chopped coriander leaves and give a mix. Let it cools completely

Make balls of it. I like small vada's so I have made small balls if you want you can make medium sized balls.

Take a bowl put chane ka aata and water whisk and make a thick batter. Put 1 tsp hot oil and baking soda mix it well.

Heat oil for deep frying. Take a ball and press it lightly and dip in the batter and directly put into the oil and fry them.

Your batata vadas are ready to enjoy. Serve with green chutney and with red sukhi chutney of vadas.
