Ingredients

  1. 200 gmschhena
  2. 1 tbspsooji
  3. 1 tbspmaida
  4. 1/4 tspcardamom powder
  5. 1 cupsugar
  6. 4 cupswater

Steps

30 to 35 min
  1. 1

    Take the chhena and crumble it. Mash it properly so that it is smooth.
    Now add maida and sooji, mix it well and knead it well.
    Add 1 tbsp sugar and repeat the process.
    It’s a smooth dough.

    Take small portions and make a crackfree, smooth dumpling.
    Take 4 tbsp sugar with 1 tbsp water, and boil it in low flame for caramel.
    Stir it so that sugar will not burn.
    When it starts caramel, add little water carefully and stir it till the sugar melts.
    Add the water and boil it.
    Now add rest sugar, cardamom powder and boil it.

    Add chhena dumplings to hot sugar syrup, and boil it in high flame for 15 to 20 mins.
    By this, it absorbs the colour and doubles in size too.
    Now reduce the flame to low and boil it for 15 to 20 min more.
    It will turn to light golden colour it's done.
