Soak dal for half an hour.

In a pressure cooker add dal water salt and turmeric powder cook till 2 whistles let the pressure release.

In another pan add oil when hot add cumin seeds mustard seeds asafoetida powder when splutter add curry leaves ginger finely chopped and green chilli.

Add besan and roast it till golden brown on low flame sieve the dal into it and stir continuously.

Add water accordingly depending on how much was remaining in the cooker of dal

Add salt red chilli powder bit extra turmeric powder and give nice boil when appears nice consistency like dal add tamarind water or pulp should be generous amount so this will give a tangy taste

Take out in serving bowl give a ghee jeera red chilli tarka with 1 tsp of ghee garnish with coriander leaves.
