Mashed potatoes can be hard to perfect. My mashed potatoes are a huge crowd pleaser and even reheat great!
Cooking Instructions

Peel and quarter potatoes.

Fill a large saucepot 1/2 way with water. Put cut up potatoes in water and turn on medium/high. Bring to a boil. (about 10 minutes)

Once at a boil lower heat and continue to simmer approximately 20 minutes. Poke a potato or 2 to make sure they are done.

Strain potatoes then place them in a large bowl. Add milk, butter, salt and pepper.

Mix with handmixer on high 2 minutes. Stir and taste. Depending on your taste you may want additional milk. Add only a little at a time. Continue mixing an additional 1 minute until they are smooth and lump free.

GOOD TIP.... but if adding gravy on top of mashed potatoes the sour cream will make them runny with the gravy... :-)my suggestion is to add 2T and mix... if u are going to add gravy there should b a stiff peak.... :-) MsKipper
