Piñitas (Sweet Milk Bread Rolls)

Piñitas (Sweet Milk Bread Rolls)
Steps
- 1
In a bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then stir until dissolved. (The yeast should create bubbles.) Add this mixture to a bowl with the flour, honey, eggs, and salt. Mix everything together with a wooden spoon. Once combined, transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead. Add more flour to the surface as needed and continue kneading. Rub a little oil on your hands and keep kneading.
- 2
Since the dough is very sticky, keep kneading until it no longer sticks to your hands and is smooth and uniform. Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and a towel, and let it rise until doubled in size (about 1 1/2 to 2 hours). Once risen, place the dough on a floured surface, gently spread it out with your fingers, and cut out rounds using a glass. Shape each round into a ball. Place the balls on a greased baking pan or parchment paper, cover with plastic wrap and a towel, and let rise for 45 minutes.
- 3
Uncover and brush the rolls with beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350°F (180°C) for about 20 minutes.
