Ingredients

  • Forbatter:
  • 3 cupsrice
  • 1 cupurad dal
  • 4-5methi seeds
  • For palak paste:
  • 10-12 leavespalak
  • 5-6garlic pods
  • 1 inchginger
  • 4-5green chillies
  • 1 tbspcoriander leaves
  • 1 tspsalt
  • 1 cubebutter
  • As requiredOil to apply

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash and soak the rice and dal separately for 6-8 hrs. Add some methi seeds also. Then grind it to a fine paste. Ferment the batter for another 5-6 hours or till it rises.

  2. 2

    Now to make palak paste, grind palak, garlic, ginger, green chillies and coriander leaves.

  3. 3

    Take a tawa, heat it, apply oil and spread it over the tawa, now add salt to the batter and spread it. Apply palak paste, spread the paste and apply little butter. Cook it till slightly crispy, then flip to the other side, cook for a few minutes. When done serve it with coconut chutney.
