Ingredients

30 minutes
6 people
  1. 1 cupmoong dal (soaked)
  2. 2 tspginger paste
  3. 2 tbspoil
  4. 1/2 tspasafoetida
  5. 1/2 tspblack salt powder
  6. 1/2 cupcurd
  7. to tasteSalt
  8. 1 tspred chilli powder
  9. 1/2 tspcumin seeds
  10. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  11. 1/2 tspcoriander powder
  12. 1 tspgaram masala powder
  13. Water as required

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Take soaked moong dal in a mixtur jar. Blend it in a smooth paste. No need to add water. Paste should be fine.

  2. 2

    Heat oil in a pan. Add hing and cumin seeds in it and saute for a minute.

  3. 3

    Now add ginger paste and saute till raw smell goes away.

  4. 4

    Add moong dal paste in it and saute until dal roasted well and changes colour.

  5. 5

    Now add curd in it and give it a quick mix. Add other masala powder also and saute for a few minutes.

  6. 6

    Now add some water in it and stir it constantly to make a lumps free paste. When you get a smooth paste add more water in it.

  7. 7

    Give it a boil, simmer it for 5-10 minutes to get your desired consistency.

  8. 8

    When you get your desired consistency switch off the gas and sprinkle garam masala powder. Cover it and keep aside.

  9. 9

    Delicious karaar is ready to serve. Serve hot with chapati or rice.
