An innovative touch to a very lovely recipe called Khadi Daal. It practically means that the Daal is firm and it's called Khadi here in Hyderabad. It is not mushy or soft and broken like other varieties of it. This one is an amazing side dish from my City Hyderabad and it's made with just Onions and Tomatoes along with the spices. But here in this one, I haven't added any Red Onions and have used Spring Onions instead. That's it folks. All said and done. It's absolutely easy and the quickest one to make for Dinner or Breakfast. This can be enjoyed at any time of the day, provided it's eaten with Rotis. We use it for Breakfast here and at Dinner in family because we enjoy Rotis at night.
Happy Cooking Everyone!

  2. 2

Cover and cook on a low heat until done with the Tomatoes being soft and mushy. And now finally add the Lentils along with the water in which they have been soaked. Keep the heat on a medium high to high heat and adjust Salt at this stage. Also add in chopped Coriander Leaves. Cover and cook until it is done. The water is enough for it's cooking as these Lentils get cooked pretty much easily.

  3. 3

Serve hot with Phulkas and Chapatis. It tastes yum with any of the Indian Breads. However if desired, it can be enjoyed with simple boiled Rice and Pickle. Enjoy!

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
