This is a village style mutton recipe which I learnt from my grandmother. The uniqueness of this dish is cooking the mutton in it's own juice with lot of dry red chillies.

This is a village style mutton recipe which I learnt from my grandmother. The uniqueness of this dish is cooking the mutton in it's own juice with lot of dry red chillies.
Steps
- 1
Heat oil in a pan and add in the cumin seeds, chopped onions, dry red chillies and ginger garlic paste. Saute well till the onions changes colour.
- 2
Then add the washed Mutton Pieces. Add enough salt and mix well with the onions.
- 3
Keep the flame low. Cover and cook till the mutton pieces are cooked soft. Mutton has to cook in it's own juice. Stir inbetween to avoid the mutton stick to the bottom. If necessary sprinkle some water.
- 4
Once the mutton pieces are cooked soft, check for Salt and spice. (If you feel the spice is not enough ads some red chilli powder) finally add the grated coconut and mix well for a minute and turn off the stove.
- 5
Transfer to a serving bowl. Mutton porial is ready to serve.
