This recipe which I am going to tell you is my childhood recipe .My grandmother( nani)used to make it and my mother also learned from her but basically this recipe ,is the recipe of my grand mother who taught my mother too.My grand mother learned from her small town as she was migrated from India. #cookwithmumtaz

Step 1: First take rice flour, turmeric powder and milk and measure them properly.

Add turmeric powder in milk.

Put 250gm rice flour in any pot or parath.

Add the turmeric milk in the rice flour and rub with hands slowly don't pour all the milk it should be done slowly don't use full milk just slowly and then all,that it gets moist.

It should be in this condition.

Cover it with any lid for 1 hour.

After 1 hour seive the rice flour in a strainer it will started to look like this.

In the starting you will feel difficult as the rice flour started to make lumps you have to break them with your cleaned and dry hands.

It should be like this as shown in the picture.

Put the rice flour in any utensil and set aside.

Take a cleaned cloth or any malmal cloth if you have.

Transfer all the dry rice flour mixture on a neat and cleaned cloth tie it properly and set aside.

Now take 2 litres of water in a steamer or any container or utensil which you use for steam always or sometimes. I have an idli pot I am using that.

Now put the strainer which can fix in your pot I am using idli strainer you can put any of them which you have or which can fix in your pot.

Take the tied cloth which was set aside we have to placed in the steamer for 15 to 20 mins.

After 15 minutes take out tied riceflour and separate int to any pot.

The flour after steaming should be like a waxy material.

Now take fresh coconut,sugar and cardamom

Take a a sauce pan put 4 tbsp ghee heat it add cardamom powder, sugar and fresh coconut.

The coconut, sugar and cardamom mixture should be like this. The flame should be very slow. Until and unless coconut and sugar are settled and dissolved properly.It will take 10 to 12 minutes on slow flame.

Then add the steam mixture.Mix all the rice flour and coconut mixture together. Heat for more 10 minutes on slow flame. The maleeda is ready. Then cover with the lid. The rice flour maleeda is ready.
