Ingredients

  • dough
  • 3 CupsFlour
  • 1/2 CupButter
  • 2 TbspSugar
  • 1/2 TbspBaking powder
  • 1/2 TbspSalt
  • Eggs - 2 Eggs
  • Milk
  • fillings
  • Minced Meat
  • Carrot Sticks (Diced)
  • Onions (Diced)
  • Potatos (Cubed and cooked)
  • Seasonings
  • Oil
  • 1 Tbspflour to thicken the filling
  • glaze
  • 1Egg

Steps

25-30 Minutes
  1. 1

    In a large bowl mix together the flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.

    Add the butter and rub it with the flour until you get a crumbly texture.

    Beat the eggs and add to the flour mixture, mix until dough is formed. Do not over mix.

    Wrap the dough with cling film and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

    In a large pan heat oil.

  6. 6

    Add the onion and sauté for 5-6 minutes, until translucent.

  7. 7

    Add the diced carrots and cook for 3-4 minutes.

  8. 8

    Add the meat and cook, breaking it apart for 5 minutes until no longer pink.

  9. 9

    Season to your own taste and in the 1tbsp of flour while stirring to cook for 2 minutes.

    Add in cubed potatoes with a little water and stircarefully.

  11. 11

    Bring to simmer over medium heat for 15 minutes until it thickens.

    Set aside to cool.

  13. 13

    Preheat oven to 180 degrees.

  14. 14

    Divide the dough into 2 (you also can roll the whole dough, but dividing it makes it easier to work).

  15. 15

    Roll out the dough into 1/8-inch thickness.

  16. 16

    Cut out small round shapes with meatpie cutter or a round plate.

  17. 17

    Combine all the leftover dough and roll it again to make more circles.

  18. 18

    Place 1 tablespoon of the meat mixture in the center and seal it with your fingers or with a fork or if you are using a meatpie cutter fold it carefully.

    Brush the pies with beaten egg and bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden.
