Place the flour in a large bowl. In a saucepan, heat the water with the salt.

When the water starts to boil, pour it all at once over the flour. Use a wooden spoon to mix the flour and water together. The dough will be sticky and thick.

Transfer the dough to a piping bag and pipe the churros onto a clean kitchen towel. Let them cool slightly so they hold their shape and don’t split while frying.

Heat plenty of light vegetable oil in a skillet. When the oil is hot, add the churros. Fry over medium heat so they cook through without being raw inside.

Once fried, place the churros on paper towels to absorb excess oil. Sprinkle sugar on top and serve.
