Ingredients

15-20 minutes
3 servings
  1. 1 cupyellow split moong dal
  2. 2 tbspchana dal
  3. 1 tspcumin seeds
  4. 1 inchginger chopped
  5. 1green chilli chopped
  6. To tastesalt
  7. 1-2onions finely chopped
  8. 3 tbspfinely chopped coriander leaves
  9. As neededoil for cooking dosa

Steps

15-20 minutes
  1. 1

    Wash moong dal and chana dal well and soak them for 1-2 hours.

    Then drain off the water. Add chopped ginger, green chilli and cumin seeds.

    Grind all these to a smooth batter (like dosa batter) by adding water as needed. Transfer it to a bowl.

    Add salt to taste and mix well.

    Heat a nonstick tawa over a medium flame. Pour a ladleful of batter in the centre of the tawa and quickly spread it into a thin circle by rotating back side of the ladle in spiral motion.

    Sprinkle few chopped onions and coriander leaves over it and gently press them using spatula.

    Drizzle 1 tsp oil around the edge. Cook for 1-2 minutes or until the bottom surface turns light golden brown & crisp and top surface looks cooked. Then gently half fold and cook for 30 seconds to 1 minute by flipping 1-2 times.

    Once done, remove it to a plate.

    Repeat making similar dosas with rest of the batter.

  10. 10

    Serve Moong Dal Dosa hot with coconut chutney, tomato chutney or with your favorite chutney.
