The Savoury and Yummy Cabbage Pancakes/ Gola Ruti, for a Healthy Breakfast

These cabbage pancakes are nutritious and one of my favourite. We, Bengalis call it ‘Gola Ruti’ as we mix all the ingredients with water (meaning gola) and flattened it on the Pan( tawa). It’s made out of refined flour or wheat flour. I use half onion and half thinly shredded cabbage so that we can enjoy the nutritious value of the vegetable. You can have it like this and it’s tastes great, but I add 1-2 beaten eggs to make it more yummy
It’s very simple and having preparation done, can make it in minutes....
Enjoy with your favourite & spicy dipping
Sauce.....
The spicy sauce is optional [I love this so much that I eat it ‘emni emni ‘ ( plain) with hot tea].
My kids say, Without it, the pancakes are very good, but with it, they are amazing !

Steps
- 1
Take a mixing bowl. Dry mix all the ingredients one by one with your fingers very well (from top to bottom & vice versa) for 2 minutes. Then slowly add water little by little to have the required consistency, not too thick and not too thin (idli batter consistency).
- 2
Once your batter is ready, at this point, add the beaten eggs, if you want to or else leave it as it is for 10 minutes. Flattened the batter on the hot oiled Tawa in a circle, with the help of your spatula. Flip it once the bottom side is done. Can add oil over the edges if required. Flip it again once or twice till you get the required texture.
