Tomato onion chutney

In a pan, take oil and heat it add the green chillies and asafoetida to it. Now add the urad dal to it. When the dal turns brownish add the chopped onions.

Chop the tomatoes roughly while the onions becomes translucent or pinkish.

Add the chopped tomatoes and salt to the pan. Cook till the tomatoes becomes soft.

Now let the mixture cool for sometime and then crush the mixture in a mixture jar. Add as required water to make smooth paste.

Now remove the contents in a serving bowl and add the lemon juice to it. Now add the tempering of mustard seeds and curry leaves to it and serve it.
