Wash and soak urad dal for about 2 hours.

After drain water from urad dal and make batter adding required water.

Soak idli rava in enough water for about 10 mins. Squeeze and add the rava to urad batter. Mix and let it rest for about 8-10 mins.

Kottea (pocket) :Take banana leaf. Using water and clean. Heat the banana leaf and divide leaf as shown. Use sideline as a thread to tie. Make this into pouch(pocket) as shown and tie knots.

In batter add salt and mix well. Next, pour the idli batter into banana leaf (pocket) and tie the knot on both sides, and steam cook for about 15 to 20 mins.

After cooked open the banana leaf and cut it slices and serve with chutney or sambar.
