Soak the tamarind and dates in water in different bowls for 1 hour. Squeeze out and discard any seeds or strings from the tamarind. Soaking the dates will make them soft and easy to blend.

In a blend, put the tamarind paste, dates, garlic, ginger, green chili, and 1/2 cup water.Blend until you get a lovely smooth medium thick sauce.

Serve with viazi, bajia, cassava, crisps, or use as dipping in any snack of your choice.
