Place the eggs in a bowl with the sugar and cornstarch. Add a little of the milk to make the mixture more liquid.

Bring the rest of the milk to a boil. Once boiling, slowly pour in the egg mixture while stirring constantly so it doesn't stick.

When it starts to boil and you see bubbles, it's ready. Add vanilla extract to taste.

Pour the custard into a bowl. To make the caramel, combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon water in a pan and cook over heat until it turns a honey color.

Pour the custard into the bowl and top with the caramel. Enjoy!

It's even better cold. Store in the refrigerator until you're ready to eat!
