Ingredients

40 minutes
3-4 servings
  1. 1/2 kgspinach leaves
  2. 1/2 cupMatar(fresh green peas)
  3. 1onion chopped
  4. 1 inchginger grated
  5. 4-5garlic cloves chopped
  6. 1tomato finely chopped
  7. 1/2 tspRed chilli powder
  8. 1/2 tspgaram masala
  9. Salt to taste
  10. 1/2 tspcumin seeds
  11. 1-2bay leaves
  12. 2-3cloves
  13. 1cinnamon stick
  14. 3-4 tbspButter
  15. 1 tbspghee

Cooking Instructions

    Wash and blanch the spinach in water with little salt. Let it cool. Grind it to make paste.

    Heat ghee and 2 tbsp butter in a wok. Add bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon stick and cumin seeds. Saute for few seconds. Add onion and ginger, garlic. Saute for 4-5 minutes. Add tomato, cook until it turns mushy.

    Add green peas and 1/2 cup water. Cover it with lid. Cook until peas become soft. Add all the spices cook for two minutes or until the oil leaves the sides. Add the spinach paste, simmer for 10 minutes and switch off the flame.

    Transfer it in serving bowls. Garnish with butter. Serve hot with chapati and salad.
