Fresh peas and spinach are available in the winter season, the vegetable of Matar Palak is very tasty to eat, it is also nutritious, it is found in plenty of iron, it is very good for health. Serve the Matar Palak along with hot chapati and Salad for the weeknight dinner.
Cooking Instructions

Wash and blanch the spinach in water with little salt. Let it cool. Grind it to make paste.

Heat ghee and 2 tbsp butter in a wok. Add bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon stick and cumin seeds. Saute for few seconds. Add onion and ginger, garlic. Saute for 4-5 minutes. Add tomato, cook until it turns mushy.

Add green peas and 1/2 cup water. Cover it with lid. Cook until peas become soft. Add all the spices cook for two minutes or until the oil leaves the sides. Add the spinach paste, simmer for 10 minutes and switch off the flame.

Transfer it in serving bowls. Garnish with butter. Serve hot with chapati and salad.
