Ingredients

  • 500 gramlarge peanuts
  • 340 grampink salt or normal salt
  • 1 tablespoonsalt
  • 2 tablespoonwater

Steps

    In a large bowl 1 tablespoon of salt and add 2 tablespoon of cold water. Mix thoroughly until all salt is absorbed. Add in peanuts and mix well until all peanuts are covered.

    Soak for 15 minutes and strain all the excess water out and spread the peanuts on muslin cloth and let it dry for further 15 minutes.

    In a heavy bottom pan add salt and let it heat for 5 minutes. Add peanuts and cook for 3 to 4 minutes and reduce the flame to low flame. Keep stirring for further 5 to 6 minutes. It will start fluttering and will change its colour. Once done use a sieve to remove the salt and let it cool completely. Keep in air tight container. Enjoy

Hi all, my name is Rekha. I am Indian by birth, born in Uganda, East Africa, I now live in Wilby, Northamptonshire/England.I retired at the age of 60 due to severe arthritis. I am married, a mother and grandmother.I learnt to cook from my parents at a very young age of seven. I started to cook simple dishes for the family and gradually learnt how to cook. My mum use to cook at our shop where we sold Indian sweets and savouries. I have learnt a lot from my mum. I started cooking fusion dishes and learning from others. My strong point is making sweet dishes and innovating new dishes. I can improvise and be creative in leftover dishes.I love being on Cookpad because I can share and learn new recipes. I have also made a lot of friends.
