Steps
- 1
Separate the cauliflower to medium sized florets and put them into slightly hot water for 3-4 minutes. Then drain the water and rinse them well.
- 2
Peel and cut the potatoes into small chunks. Keep them immersed in water until used.
- 3
Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. When they sizzle, add chopped onion and fry till brown. Add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell of garlic goes away. Then add chopped tomato and coriander leaves. Cook till tomato turns soft. Next add turmeic powder, chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt and saute till oil starts to ooze out from the sides.
- 4
Now add potato and cauliflower. Mix them with the spices properly. Cover and cook on a low to medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Stir in between.
- 5
Then add little water, cover and allow it to cook for 10-15 minutes or till the water dries out and the potato & cauliflower are properly done.
- 6
Once the potato & cauliflower are soft and tender, add garam masala powder. Cover and turn off the flame.
- 7
Thus ready is the delicious Aloo Gobhi to be served hot with rice, roti or paratha.
