Ingredients

  • 120 gunsalted butter
  • 100 gbittersweet chocolate coarsely chopped
  • 200 gsugar
  • 100 gall-purpose plain flour
  • 30 gunsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2large eggs
  • 1 tspfinely grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 tspvanilla extract
  • 1/2 tspground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tspground ginger
  • 1/4 tspsalt
  • 1/8 tspground cloves

Steps

  1. 1

    Preheat the oven to 160 degrees. Butter an 8 inch square baking dish. Line with parchment paper or aluminium foil, leaving a 2 inch overhand on two sides

    Melt the butter and chocolate in a double boiler over a barely simmering water until smooth

    Add in the rest of the ingredients and mix well

    Spoon batter into the pan

    Bake for 30-35 mins

    Let it cool down on a wire rack for 15 mins
