Superb Merengue Omurice

cookpad.japan
cookpad.japan @cookpad_jp

I really wanted to make fluffy omurice using a single egg, so I whipped it up to add volume. What a surprise! I ended up with the world's most fluffy and delicious omurice.

Of course, you could simply make omelets using this recipe.
Make sure to spread the butter evenly throughout the frying pan. Otherwise, the eggs will be too difficult to flip.
You could make some basil omelets by following the same steps. Really tasty! Recipe by JuLia6

Steps

  1. 1

Cook any additional ingredients of your choice. When cooked, add rice and stir-fry lightly.

  2. 2

Add ketchup. Season with salt and pepper (unlisted) if necessary.

  3. 3

When done with the chicken or ketchup rice, transfer onto a plate to form an omurice oval shape.

  4. 4

Separate the egg whites from the egg yolks. First, whisk the egg whites. When fluffy, add the egg yolks and whisk well.

  5. 5

Add ○ ingredients into the eggs.

  6. 6

Heat butter in a frying pan. When it starts to make a hissing noise, turn to medium heat and pour in the eggs.

  7. 7

Cook over low heat without any mixing. Carefully place the omurice-shaped rice in the middle. When the eggs turn golden brown, use a spatula to carefully fold in the rice.

  8. 8

    Carefully flip over to finish.
