Cold Brew Coffee

Coffee is a regular morning habit in our household and I've got a bunch of gadgets for making it, including a regular drip coffee machine, a siphon coffee maker, and a French press. I used the latter in a nonstandard way to make this. It's less acidic than most hot brewed coffee. ☕

Coffee is a regular morning habit in our household and I've got a bunch of gadgets for making it, including a regular drip coffee machine, a siphon coffee maker, and a French press. I used the latter in a nonstandard way to make this. It's less acidic than most hot brewed coffee. ☕
Steps
- 1
Mix the coarse ground beans in a pitcher or French press coffee maker
- 2
Add 1 litre water, and stir gently.
- 3
Cover with plastic wrap or cheesecloth and let sit at room temperature for 16 to 18 hours. I did this at 4pm so it should be ready by 8am tomorrow!
- 4
When ready, put a coffee filter over a funnel and pour the cold brew coffee through it into another container.
- 5
Serve by mixing one part cold brew with 1 part boiling water. Store in the refrigerator for up to a week.
