Fast & Easy Cast Iron Seared Steak
I always like a good steared steak. Going through all various diets low carb, paleo, etc. I found a quick easy way to cook steaks perfectly with a cast iron skillet.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Preferred to have steak come up to room temperature about a half hour to an hour and a half depending on the size of steaks
- 2
Preheat oven to 400° f
- 3
Pat dry steaks with paper towel first and then season steaks to your liking example: salt and pepper, prairie dust whatever you like.
- 4
Drizzle a little oil into the cast iron pan and spread it around. Heat cast iron pan until the oil starts smoking. You could do this with a good high quality all stainless steel pan.
- 5
Place steaks into hot skillet for about a 1 minute to 1 1/2 for each side. Note thicker steaks can go a little bit longer.
- 6
Remove from the stove top and place into oven between 8 to 10 minutes depending on the wellness you would like the steak to be. ***Caution*** handle maybe hot.
- 7
Remove from oven and place steaks on a dish and allow it to sit between 10 to 20 minutes.***Caution*** handle will be hot.
- 8
Add any additional seasonings if you like and serve.

Quick and Easy Simmered Hamburger Steaks Quick and Easy Simmered Hamburger Steaks
The recipes I saw on Cookpad for simmered hamburgers didn't have sugar, so they were all a bit too sour for me...I wanted to have something a little sweeter for kids, so I tried it this way. These basic hamburgers are delicious and great for locomoco rice bowls. It's hard to cook potatoes or carrots all the way through this way, so first heat in the microwave, then simmer.Simmering the hamburgers will ensure they're not under-cooked, but they will be soft and juicy.
