Pigeon peas pulav (in pressure cooker)

Wash the basmati rice and soak in water for 30 mins.

Heat a cooker with ghee. Once it's hot add jeera and hing. next add bay leaf,dry red chillies, star anise, cardmom pods and cinnamon and let it splutter.

Next add ginger garlic paste, slit green chillies and onions in it. Saute till the onions turn glossy.

Now add haldi, dhaniya powder,garam masala, red chilli powder and required salt in it.

Saute for one minute. Next add pigeon peas and mix well.

Now add soaked basmati rice. Mix well and add water in it.

Close the cooker and cook in a high flame and wait till the pressure comes out vigorously and then put on the whistle and cook for 3 mins.

Wait till the pressure subsides on its own and then open the cooker. Serve hot.
