Easy 3-Minute Microwave Caramel Sauce

It's troublesome to make just a little bit of caramel on the stove...so I came up with this method!
The sugar will start to turn brown very quickly. If the color gets too dark the caramel will be bitter, so watch carefully and stop cooking before it becomes very dark brown.
Add the boiling water little by little! I added the water while the bowl was still in the microwave. Recipe by Toshihaya

Steps
- 1
Add the ☆ marked ingredients to a microwave safe bowl and put it in the microwave for about 3 minutes at 700W. (Please watch it while it cooks and adjust the cooking time.)
- 2
When the sugar turns brown, add the boiling water little by little and mix it in. Done! (The hot water will splatter, so be sure to add it little by little!)
- 3
By the way, if the caramel sticks to the bowl, you can remove it by soaking the bowl in water for a while!
- 4
This is a failed version. I used this bowl thinking that it was microwave safe... But it wasn't and it broke into pieces like this... Please be sure to use a microwave safe bowl!
