Fluffy French Toast Made With Frozen Bread

This is my daughter's favorite french toast. Getting it ready before going to bed is a bit of a pain, but I thought, "There has to be an easy way to do it!" So I came up with this recipe.

I usually let it soak for 2~3 minutes, but if you let it soak just enough, it will be nice and fluffy when you fry it up. You can use the remaining egg mixture to fill in the spaces between your slices of bread while frying! If you have 10 minutes, you can make it! Recipe by lei mama

Steps

  1. 1

Mix together the egg, milk, and sugar in a deep bowl or tupperware container. If you mix up the egg whites to break them up thoroughly, and it'll turn out better.

  2. 2

Cut the frozen bread into 4 pieces. Use a skewer to poke holes into it. It's hard for the egg mixture to get absorbed near the crusts, so be sure to poke holes there!

  3. 3

Soak the bread in the egg mixture. After about two minutes, flip the bread over. The bread is soft, so if you're worried about breaking it, use a spatula to flip.

  4. 4

Once both sides have completely soaked, fry it up and enjoy!

  5. 5

This is a version made without cutting up the bread. It might look a bit unappealing with all those holes, but you won't be able to tell at all after it's been fried!

  6. 6

If it's too soft, it can break, but you can use a spatula to safely flip it over.

  7. 7

You can make more french toast with the remaining egg mixture if you like, but I like to pour it over the bread to fill in the holes!!
