My mother used to make me steamed sweet potato bread when I was a child. I made the recipe easier by using pancake mix.It has a mild sweetness, but if you would like it to be sweeter, mix some sugar, brown sugar or honey into the batter.Using a small amount of water is the only way I can think of to prevent the boiling water from getting into the cups.... I didn't want my leftover condensed milk to go to waste, so I tried making bread with it.Instead of making rolls, you can just use the bread course in the bread maker and this is also delicious.
