Hard Boiled Eggs

I love hard boiled eggs in a classic salad but peeling them can be a bit of a nightmare. That is until I found this method of hard boiling that means the shells come off in an instant.

I love hard boiled eggs in a classic salad but peeling them can be a bit of a nightmare. That is until I found this method of hard boiling that means the shells come off in an instant.
Steps
- 1
Bring enough water to cover the eggs in a pot to a rolling boil.
- 2
Prick the eggs at the bottom to allow air to escape.
- 3
Gently lower each egg (using a spoon) into the boiling water - being careful not to splash yourself.
- 4
Once all the eggs are in, leave them boiling for 30 seconds.
- 5
Lower the temperature to simmer and leave them in the water for 12-13 minutes.
- 6
Carefully remove the eggs from the boiling water and place them immediately into ice water to stop them from cooking further. Leave them for 15 minutes to cool.
- 7
Once the eggs are cooled, tap the eggs on a hard surface at each end and then roll them on the surface on the sides. This will loosen the shell from the egg.
