Poached Eggs in the Microwave

cookpad.japan
cookpad.japan @cookpad_jp

I was looking for ways to make poached eggs, but most of the cooking methods I found required letting the egg sit for 10 minutes. Then I looked for other ways to make poached eggs much faster using a microwave, but the results didn't turn out very well. So, for my recipe, I made slight adjustments to the heating time.

When you cook eggs in the microwave, there is a possibility that you could hurt yourself if the egg bursts. Hence, do not change the heating time. Recipe by Kawakamisan

  3. 3

If you like hard-set poached eggs, don't remove the egg immediately from the hot water. Scoop it out after a few minutes.

  4. 4

If you want to reduce any uneven cooking of the egg, move the position of the egg after 40 seconds of microwaving, and then continue to microwave for the remaining 30 seconds.

  5. 5

If you are worried about the egg bursting, carefully poke the yolk with a toothpick. Gently remove the toothpick, then cook the egg. Refer to Hints.

  6. 6

The egg may not be completely immersed in the water if you use a large container. Use a container that enables the egg to sink into the water.
