Ingredients

  1. 2 cupschopped bell peppers
  2. 1 cupcubed onion
  3. 1 cupcoarse besan/ chickpea flour
  4. 2 tspchilli powder
  5. 1 tspsalt
  6. 1/2 tspturmeric
  7. 2 tspdhanajeera powder
  8. 4 tbspoil
  9. 1/2 tspmustard seeds
  10. 1/2 tspcumin seeds
  11. 1/4 tsphing
  12. garnish with fresh coconut and cilantro

Cooking Instructions

    Heat a kadhai, add 2 tbsp oil in it. Add mustard seeds when hot, let them crackle. Add cumin seeds and hing. Add onion fry for 5 minutes.

    Once the onions are cooked, add cut capsicum/bellpeppers. Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes.

    In this time, mix besan, salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, dhanya jeera powder and oil and mix well.

    Add this to the kadhai. mix well and cover to cook for 5 minutes on a medium flame. Stir intermittently.

    Garnish with cilantro and coconut. Serve with roti/ bhakri.

    Similarly you can make using methi leaves or green onions or grated radish.
