Ingredients

30 minutes.
4 servings
  1. 1 cupSooji / fine rava
  2. 1 cupRose petals (cleaned)
  3. 4 dropsRose essence
  4. 1 cupSugar or coconut sugar
  5. 2 cupsBoiling water (add 1/2 cup more for softer texture)
  6. as neededGhee
  7. handfulFresh rose petals to garnish
  8. 2 tablespoonsFinely chopped almonds and cashews mixed

Steps

30 minutes.
  1. 1

    First, immerse the rose petals in the boiling water. Switch of flame after a minute and close the lid. Let it infuse for 1hour.

  2. 2

    Then strain the liquid and add sugar to it. Make it into a one string thin syrup and keep it warm.

  3. 3

    Then roast suji on hot ghee in a pan till it gives a fragrant aroma. Then add the dry fruits to it and combine well.

  4. 4

    Then add the syrup and mix well while stirring continuously to break lumps. Here you can add a spoonful of milk powder or khoya for richer taste.(Optional)

  5. 5

    Then cover and let the suji cook for a minute or 2. Then add the remaining ghee, mix well. Switch off flame and add the essence. Garnish with fresh and cleaned rose petals or rose flowers.

  6. 6

    Serve hot or cold and enjoy
