Easy Snack in a Pot Simmered Sweet Potato and Apple

Since I had a lot of sweet potatoes and apples, I made this dish. This can be a bento side dish as well.
Leaving the sweet potato skin on and slicing into thin rounds keeps its flesh inside and won't fall apart easily. Simmer over low heat to prevent the potato falling apart. Adding raisins is delicious, too!! Sprinkling cinnamon powder is also good!
Since this dish is lightly flavoured, please adjust the sweetness to your liking. Recipe by Osakashokudo

Steps
- 1
Slice the sweet potato into thin rounds with the skins intact. Cut the apple into 4 wedges, and thinly slice lengthwise.
- 2
Add all the ingredients into a pot (place the sweet potato at the bottom of the pot, and pour enough water to cover it). Cover with an otoshibuta drop lid right on top of the apple, and simmer over medium-low heat. When the most water is evaporated, it's done.
