Asparagus topped with Garlic, Bacon and Blue Cheese

I absolutely love this recipe. I went to Sam's Club and purchased Blue cheese for another recipe, realized I had too much blue cheese on-hand and too little time to use it all up before it went bad. Next night, preparing some asparagus and thought, "what if I sauteed some garlic, crisp some bacon, throw that on some asparagus and top with blue cheese?" Let's just say the blue cheese did not go to waste for the first time ever. This is also excellent the next day as all the flavors have set in!

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Crisp the bacon. Remove from pan and set aside. At this point, you should crumble the bacon unless you cut the bacon into cubes prior to cooking opposed to cooking in strips.
- 2
Drain bacon grease, but reserve some of the grease (not too much) for the garlic.
- 3
Add 1 tablespoon of butter and minced garlic into the pan with the reserved bacon grease. Saute garlic until it's slightly brown.
- 4
Remove the garlic and set aside.
- 5
Now add the asparagus to the pan and coat with the garlic butter leftover in the pan.
- 6
Add the remaining tablespoon of butter, cover asparagus and cook on medium low heat. Stir occasionally and keep covered.
- 7
Once asparagus is done (about 10 minutes), turn off stovetop. In this order, top with the garlic, bacon and blue cheese.
- 8
Cover for another 2 minutes and serve. Goes great with steak and chicken.

Fried Asparagus and Bacon Fried Asparagus and Bacon
I had some bacon, but didn't want to go to the trouble of making bacon-wrapped asparagus, so I made something which was easy and quick. It's very easy. Once you've turned the heat on, fry quickly so you don't fry it too much! The aromatic garlic and the umami of the bacon really bring out the tastiness of the asparagus. For 1-2 servings. Bacon-wrapped Asparagus Bacon-wrapped Asparagus
I tried making these without cooking the asparagus first, but it took longer to cook, and the bacon tended to burn. I tried boiling the asparagus first, but then I found that microwaving was faster, and so I came up with this recipe.Pre-cooking the asparagus and carrots in the microwave reduces the amount of frying time, so the bacon doesn't burn as easily and looks appetizing. For 4 servings. Recipe by Kawakamisan cookpad.japan -

Blue cheese linguine with bacon, peas, and walnuts Blue cheese linguine with bacon, peas, and walnuts
It's been an age-and-a-half since I've had one of my favourite indulgences: blue cheese. So when the wife agreed to a pasta night, it didn't take long to decide on the type of sauce to make. Creamy, delicious blue cheese, of course. With a little (or a lot) of crispy bacon mixed in. And some walnuts for crunch. And bright, cheerful sweet peas because, y'know, veg. If you're thinking of making this, a word of warning: this dish is heavy. So dieters, stay away. To help cope with some of the richness, I've included a bonus recipe for a super-simple tomato salad. It makes a great accompaniment to the pasta. Robert Gonzal
