Chicken Momos

Chicken Momos is delicious and flavorful steamed chicken dumplings. It is easy to prepare with few ingredients and in less time. Chicken mince flavored with soy sauce, vinegar, green chili, onion, coriander leaves and white pepper powder is stuffed inside thin flour sheets and steamed. Momos can be served as evening snacks or as a starter. Serve it with spicy momo chutney or sweet chili sauce.

Chicken Momos is delicious and flavorful steamed chicken dumplings. It is easy to prepare with few ingredients and in less time. Chicken mince flavored with soy sauce, vinegar, green chili, onion, coriander leaves and white pepper powder is stuffed inside thin flour sheets and steamed. Momos can be served as evening snacks or as a starter. Serve it with spicy momo chutney or sweet chili sauce.

For the dough take maida and salt in a bowl. Add water and knead a semi-soft dough. Rest for 30 mins.

For the filling take minced chicken in a bowl. Add finely chopped onion, green chili, coriander leaves and ginger garlic paste. (Skip green chili if serving for kids) Add in salt, pepper powder, soy sauce and vinegar. Mix well.

Take small balls from the dough and roll into thin sheet. Cut with round cutter/lid for even size. Place 1 tbsp filling in the center and fold into half and seal edges. Bring the edges together to form shape as shown.

Prepare all the momos. Take water in steamer and let it come to boil. In steamer plate place few cabbage leaves and grease with oil (cabbage leaves prevents momos from sticking to the plate).

Place the prepared momos on the cabbage leaves and steam for 15 mins. Switch off the stove and let it stand for 8 mins and then remove the lid.

Serve hot Chicken Momos on bed of cabbage leaves along with spicy momo chutney and sweet chili sauce.
