Masoor dal khichdi is a simple recipe from Eastern India, specially Bihar.

Steps

Wash rice and dal together.
- 2
Heat oil in a pressure cooker and put bay leaf and cinnamon.

Add chopped onion and fry till pink in color.
- 4
Add garlic paste, chopped tomato and spices.
- 5
Mix well and sauté for 2 minutes.
- 6
Add washed rice and lentils and mix well.
- 7
Now add water and salt, close the lid and cook for 2 whistles.
- 8
After opening, put burnt garlic tadka on khichdi and serve.
