Garlic Bread (also known as Prefou)

A real treat for fun appetizers! 😊
The best way is to use 2 cups butter (about 500 grams), 1 whole head of garlic, and a large bunch of fresh parsley. I make it in these quantities to have plenty on hand.
If you prefer a more standard amount, follow the quantities below. 😊
It's a great way to save money compared to buying garlic bread! 😉

Steps

15 to 20 minutes
  1. 1

Finely chop the whole garlic and fresh parsley. You can use a food processor for a few seconds, scraping down the sides as needed. Using a large bowl and a large knife or the food processor works well. 😊

  2. 2

Add the butter, salt, and pepper, and blend again until smooth. Your garlic butter is ready.
Place the garlic butter on plastic wrap and roll it up.
You can freeze it like this. Once frozen, you can slice off as much as you need. 😉

  3. 3

Take partially baked baguettes or rolls and slice them.
Spread the garlic butter mixture on the slices.

Wrap the bread in parchment paper to make a packet and bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes at 350°F (180°C).

  5. 5

You can also wrap and freeze the prepared bread.
When ready to use, bake at 350°F (180°C) for 15 to 20 minutes, making sure to remove the plastic wrap first. 🤣

  6. 6

The advantage is you can freeze both the garlic butter and the prepared bread when fresh.
This way, you always have some ready to go—just take it from the freezer and bake. 😉

  7. 7

Quick and easy for a great appetizer! 😋
Here, I tripled the ingredients to make a big batch in advance. 😉
I like to add sun-dried tomatoes on top. 🍅

    Enjoy! 😋
