Boil all the dal together in a cooker for 3-4 whistles adding salt and turmeric powder.

Now in a wok, add 1 tablespoon ghee, add asafetida and cumin seeds to it. Now add green chillies to it, stir. Add red chilli powder and coriander powder followed by tomato cubes. Let them cook for 5 minutes or till the tomatoes are cooked well.

Now add spinach pieces to this. Stir for a minute.

Immediately add the boiled dal to this and let it boil for not more than 5-6 minutes.

Add garam masala on top, lemon and coriander leaves. Stir well.

Now heat remaining ghee in a pan, add a bit of cumin seeds red chilli powder and dry chilli. Stir for a while and pour this on the dal.

Enjoy this healthy dal palak with roti and rice.
