At my family's home in India, this tea is often served to guests. I've been drinking ginger chai a lot recently, so I made this for the first time in a while. It is wonderfully fragrant, so it's n ideal tea for refreshing you body and soul.You don't have to crush the whole cardamons to powder. If you add more sugar than usual, it will taste more authentic. I baked a cheesecake, which goes well with warm milk tea in the winter.The milky chai taste and the butter melts in your mouth. The addition of white chocolate is sublime.If you are not able to get chai tea leaves, you can use normal black tea or tea bags instead. I'm a hot tea drinker fanatic, but every now and then on rainy days like today, I like to try something different: chai lattes are perfect for a cold day.

This is a good drink for after Thanksgiving dinner, especially if you're not a huge fan of super-sweet desserts. For the tea, I prefer Celestial, but Tazo works fine, as well. Also, if you can spring for fresh nutmeg and use a zester, it makes it even better.
