I want to experiment with reducing sugar and replacing dairy, but haven’t deviated from what’s below. I can vouch that the quality of what’s already here is fantastic, though!

Ingredients

6 servings (~1.5 qt)
  1. 1 cheavy cream (1 3/4 total)
  2. 3/4 cheavy cream
  3. 1 1/4 cwhole milk
  4. 3/4 csugar
  5. 1/8 tspfine sea salt
  6. 1 tbspvanilla extract
  7. 2 cflavors (fruit/chocolate/cookies/etc)
  8. 8ish lbs. ice (ice cream maker)
  9. 4-5 cupsrock salt/solar salt

Cooking Instructions

    In saucepan, mix the 1c portion of cream with sugar and salt.

    Warm mixture over medium heat (simmer) until sugar dissolves

  3. 3

    Remove from heat and add remaining 3/4 c cream, milk, and vanilla.

    Stir and chill in fridge

  5. 5

    Wait.

    (Roughly a couple hours to allow it to chill)

  6. 6

    Once chilled, whisk once more then pour into ice cream maker to churn. Follow device instructions. (This is where the estimated ice and rock salt values come in)
