Kashmiri Kahwa

Kahwa is a fragrant mild Green tea made in Kashmir usually with their own spice blend. It's available easily in many departmental stores or supermarkets. But I have my own way of doing it with Green tea leaves and a few spices. Not to forget one of the most expensive and the key ingredient in this which is the Saffron.
It is basically a warming tea that is taken in the State mostly because of the weather. It soothes, calms, relaxes, and rejuvenates the body.
It is usually made in Copper pots called Samovar in Kashmir. And these are basically large pots where the Kahwa is brewed.
That's it. This is the traditional drink from one of the most beautiful States in our Country.
So let's get started with the recipe straight away.

Steps
- 1
Bring water to a rolling boil on high heat at first along with the spices. Crush the spices a bit before adding them to the water. It's absolutely okay if you don't want it that way. You can add them whole. After it boils vigorously, take it off the heat. Add Green tea leaves and allow them to steep for about 3-4 minutes.
- 2
Strain and add a few slivered Almonds. Do not use Sugar or Honey. It's better off without them both. Since it's a hot concoction, it's always preferable not to use Honey in it as Ayurveda has proven it to be harmful if it is done so. However, you can use Sugar if desired. But I prefer it as it is.

Serve this amazing and beneficial Kahwa in small teacups. Enjoy! Relish!
