Homemade double crumb cake like Kris loves from the keys

Ingredients

  1. For the cake
  2. 1 1/2 cupAP flour
  3. 1/2 cupsugar
  4. 1 1/2 tspbaking powder
  5. 1/2 tspsalt
  6. 1large egg
  7. 1/2 cupmilk (or buttermilk for more moistness)
  8. 2 Tbspcanola oil
  9. 2 tspvanilla
  10. For the crumble topping
  11. 2 1/2 cupsAP flour
  12. 1 cupbrown sugar
  13. 1 1/2 tspcinnamon
  14. 1 cupbutter, melted and cooled
  15. Powdered sugar for dusting

Cooking Instructions

    Preheat 350°

    Spray 8x8 dish

    In a medium bowl combine 1 1/2 cups AP flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt. Stir to combine

    In another bowl combine 1 large egg, 1/2 cup milk, 2 Tbsp oil, 2 tsp vanilla. Stir until combined

    Combine flour mixture to milk mixture and mix well. Spread into dish

    For the Crumble topping

    In a medium bowl combine 2 1/2 cups AP flour, 1 cup brown sugar, and 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon and mix well

    Then pour in 2 sticks melted butter and stir until clumps form.

    Sprinkle those clumps all over batter. It will be thick

  10. 10

    Bake 40-50 minutes in an 8x8. 30-40 in a 9x13

    Check around 30 minutes with a toothpick since ovens vary

    Dust with powdered sugar after its cooled
