Steps
- 1
Prepare your baking tin(s) by greasing with margarine and dusting them with flour. Get your oven ready too by pre-heating it to around 180°C.
- 2
In a bowl, mix Flour, Baking Powder, Cinnamon, Black Pepper, salt and sieve
- 3
In another bowl, mix eggs, sugar and beat them very well. Add oil and mix very well. Add vanilla and mix well too.
- 4
Now alternate the four and milk (in the egg sugar oil mixture), as they say, start with flour and end with flour. Mix them very well.
- 5
Get your already prepared baking tin(s). I used two 1kg tins. Pour in your batter, hit the tins on the surface and bake for 45 -60 minutes, at 180° C.
I noticed that 200°C is too much as the cake got crusty before it cooked inside, (if not careful/alert the cake will burn). But the slight crust was enticing too.

When well cooked, let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes in the baking tins, remove and place on a cooling rack and let it cool completely before slicing. Served well with a cup of Black Tea or Coffee with sukuma wiki as I did 🤣.
N/B: I remembered to take the pictures after I had sliced and served, I tested my piece and got so goosed at how tasty and sweet it was. See the below Pictures, ignore the cutlery used😊.
Try it out and Enjoy ❤️.
