Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsdry chickpeas/garbanzo beans
  2. 1small onion, roughly chopped
  3. 1/4 cupchopped fresh parsley
  4. 3-5 clovesgarlic
  5. 1 3/4 tspsalt or as required
  6. 2 tspcumin
  7. 1 tspcatch coriander powder
  8. 1/2 tspblack pepper
  9. 1 tspcatch red chili powder
  10. 1/2 tspcatch garam masala powder
  11. Pinchground cardamom
  12. as per needVegetable oil for greasing the waffle maker

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash and Soak chickpeas (in enough water)overnight.

  2. 2

    Drain and rinse the chickpeas well. Pour them into your food processor along with the chopped onion, garlic cloves, parsley, flour or chickpea flour, salt, cumin, coriander powder, black pepper, red chili powder and little garam masala powder.

  3. 3

    Pulse all ingredients together until a rough, coarse meal forms.

  4. 4

    Once the mixture reaches the desired consistency, pour it out into a bowl and use a fork to stir; this will make the texture more even throughout.

  5. 5

    Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1-2 hours.

  6. 6

    Heat up the waffle maker and grease it well.

    take little falafel mixture and keep on the waffle maker and close the lid so that it can cook.

  7. 7

    Keep it turning so that it gets evenly cooked from both the sides.
    I made in waffle maker which is used on the gas top but one can make it in an electric one too.

  8. 8

    Once it’s done take it out in a dish and serve it hot with hummus and enjoy guiltfree

    it’s a protein rich option for breakfast which keeps you filled for a long time- avoiding breads and extra oil of frying
