Freezable Salted Deep Fried Chicken Breast for Bento

There are too many bento recipes that are soy sauce flavored, so I decided to make a salty version!

Cut the meat diagonally to ensure that it is still tender when you eat it.
In Step 3 when you're adding in the katakuriko and mixing with chopsticks, if it's still to dry, just add a little water till it's no longer dry.
In the morning, just take it out and heat it up for your bento. This totally has saved me. Recipe by Hokkori-no

Ingredients

1 serving
  1. 1Chicken breast
  2. 4 tbspKatakuriko
  3. 1Frying oil
  4. Seasoning
  5. 1/2 tbspSake
  6. 1/2 tspSalt
  7. 1/2 tspSugar
  8. 1/2 tbspMayonnaise
  9. 1Pepper
  10. 5mm worth Grated garlic (tube)
  11. 1/4 tspGrated ginger

Steps

  1. 1

    Slice the chicken breast diagonally into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Put the chicken in a bowl and add in the seasoning ingredients. Rub them in. Let it sit for 10 minutes (if you have time, let them marinate for longer).

    Next, add in the katakuriko and mix with chopsticks and then deep fry in oil.

    Once it cools, put in a freezer bag and then put in the freezer.

  5. 5

    When you're going to put this in a bento, place what you're going to use on a heatproof plate and then thaw & heat up in the microwave.
