Fafda is a Gujarati crispy street food snacks.This is made with besan. The authentic preparation styl is hand pressing the dough but I make it easier way by using a rolling pin.

Fafda is a Gujarati crispy street food snacks.This is made with besan. The authentic preparation styl is hand pressing the dough but I make it easier way by using a rolling pin.
Steps

Take a mixing bowl, add besan, salt, crushed ajwain, turmeric powder, baking powder mix everything and add water to get the dough in right consistency. Now knead the dough for 2-3 minutes and keep aside for rest 30 minutes.

Now divide the dough in small portions ball and roll the dough balls into thinly size bullets shape. Now place the dough bullet on a rolling surface and gently roll it till it is thin.

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, place the fafda carefully in to the hot oil and fry on medium low heat on both sides. Drain out the fafda on tissue paper to remove excess oil.

Then add few whole green chillies to the kadai and fry them until the outer skin colour is changed. Garnish the fafda with fried green chillies and chutney or sauce.
