Pressure cook moong dal for 2 whistles

Cut brinjals into medium sized pieces and soak it in water. Cut onion and tomatoes finely.

In a pan add oil when it is hot add Mustard seeds when it splutter add red chilli, hing and curry leaves
- 4
Add onion,turmeric powder and salt. Saute till it becomes soft. Add the tomatoes, brinjals, red chilli powder and cook till the brinjals becomes soft.

Then add the mashed dal, mix well and boil for a few minutes. Switch off the flame and goes well with hot rice, idli,dosa and Pongal.
