Arroz Doce (Portuguese Sweet Rice)

Ingredients

  1. 3 cupsmilk
  2. 1 cupwater
  3. 1/2 cupsugar
  4. 1 cuparborio rice (the rice you use for risotto)
  5. 2 sliceslemon zest (about the size of your thumb)
  6. 2egg yolks (save the whites for breakfast lol)
  7. Cinnamon for dusting

Cooking Instructions

    In a pot, bring milk, water and lemon zest just to boil.

    Add your rice and cook on medium to medium low, stirring often

  3. 3

    When the rice is almost fully cooked and still a little al dente, add your sugar. Cook for 3 more min

  4. 4

    Remove from heat and stir in your egg yolks, stirring quickly/vigorously for few seconds until well combined

  5. 5

    Pour into dish/platter and sprinkle with cinnamon

  6. 6

    Enjoy literally any way, hot, room temp or cold♡ (I prefer room temp but will eat it any way)
